Release Festival is about more than live music. It is about how people experience the festival, from the first announcement to the moment they head home.

Our focus is on doing things better, not simply doing more.

Quality lives in the details. In how we communicate, how we welcome people, how we work with artists and partners, and how we deliver the festival. In the small things most people may never consciously notice.

We notice them.

A strong festival is not built on one big idea. It is built on hundreds of small decisions, made with care, every day.

We do not settle for “good enough”. Not in our work, and not in anything that carries our name.

We respect the artist. We respect the audience. We respect every person who chooses to be part of Release.

Release is open to all, regardless of sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, disability, background or economic status.

We stand for equal access, accessibility and inclusion, and for diversity and fair representation across our programme, our teams and our community. Discrimination, harassment, intimidation and abusive behaviour have no place at our events.

Inclusion is never finished. We keep listening, learning and improving as the festival grows.

In the end, what matters is not any single announcement, performance or production element.

It is the whole. The moments we share, how we feel and what we remember.

Making Memories Together is not a tagline.

It is a promise to our audience and the principle behind everything we do.
